Kaden Richardson, Boys Basketball: Kaden had a 3.0 GPA during the season as a freshman on the Varsity Basketball team. Led the team in steals per game and offensive rebounds through February. A pivotal part to our stifling defense always guarding the other teams best or second best option when he came in the game. Grew tremendously as a player and got his first start in the playoff game against Whitman holding a 22 point per game scorer to 4 points while adding 15 points, 3 steals, 5 rebounds.
Jaden Selby, Wrestling- Jaden finished his freshman campaign with 26 wins and is the first freshman to qualify for 3a/4a Maryland Stat Wrestling Tournament at Churchill in 9 years. Jaden finished 3rd in the Region and took First Place at the Rockville Rumble Duals Tournament.
Sydney Norris, Girls Swim & Dive – Just a freshman, Sydney was Churchill’s highest scoring diver all season long. She placed 8th at both Divisionals and Regionals, and was the team’s only female diver to score at Metros, placing 19th in a field of 46 divers.
Noah Rutberg, Boys Swim & Dive – Noah captured an individual state championship in meet record time in the 100 back in helping the boys swim team win its second consecutive Maryland state championship. He was also part of the meet-record-setting 400 free relay. At Metros, Noah finished second in the 100 back in which he set an MCPS record by more than a full second and was part of the MCPS-record-setting 400 free relay.
Kaila Wilson, Girls Basketball – Kaila is a conscientious student who challenges herself with honors and AP classes. She was an integral part of the team’s 22-2 season and may be the teams most versatile player. She has played positions 2-5 for the Bulldogs this season! She is a sharp shooter, and her 10 points, including three clutch 3 pointers vs BCC in the Sectional Finals were instrumental in driving the Bulldogs 16 point comeback to send the game to overtime.
