The 2019 schedule for the Bulldogs picked up where the 2018 regular season schedule left off, with the varsity football team taking on the neighboring Walter Johnson Wildcats. WJ came away with the victory this time, putting 23 points on the board before the Bulldogs scored on the first play of the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout. Junior QB Cole Haglund found junior wideout Josh Pilarski on a sideline route as the two combined for the 38 yard touchdown. Haglund tossed to senior wideout Veron Talla for the 2-point conversion.
Haglund and senior QB Dre’ Horsey combined for 14 of 29 passing for 159 yards, and junior Evan Levitt led the Bulldog receivers with 7 catches for 68 yards.
Senior linebacker Rocco Tranquill recorded 9 tackles (6 solo), and junior defensive back Richard Chechile had a pass interception.
Next up, the Bulldogs take the short trip to Richard Montgomery High School to take on the Rockets on Friday 9/13, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
