Girls Varsity Soccer, Varsity Swimming · Two Coaches Honored as NFHS Coaches of the Year!

Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach Haroot Hakopian & former Boys & Girls Swim & Dive Head Coach Chris Tappis. Both coaches were recently honored as National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches of the Year in their respective sports. The NFHS is the highest governing body of high school sports in the country so to be honored by the association is the absolute highest of honors for a high school coach.

Coach Hakopian  lead the girls soccer team to their 2nd regional title in school history this year in route to a state semi-final appearance. His teams are always one of the top soccer programs in the area on and off the field. Coach Hakopian goes above and beyond for his team and the entire athletics program.

Coach Tappis received his honor for the boys swim & dive team that finished 2nd in the state this past winter after having one two straight state titles before that. Coach Tappis recently stepped down to spend more time with his family but during his time with the program he won two state titles and a metro championship solidifying the program as one of the top programs in the last 20 years in the DMV.

Congratulations to both of these outstanding coaches! We are so very lucky to have them leading our female & male student athletes each season!
